A Blue and Purple Fathom Calmsea

I got a nice tip from Birgitte the other day about an challenge over at the Copic Challenge Group that is about colors of the sea and of coarse got a nice fuzzy feeling and started out another of Sweet November’s mermaids, this time Fathom Calmsea.

Sense the challenge was about colors if the sea i had to keep to the blue theme but i do some more water-like before so i wanted to make this one not so extremely obvious. So i checked through my stash and found DCWV’s Winter Combo stack and wanted to use it. I started out with the light paper and thought it reminded me a bot of seaweeds and corals.

I colored Fathom Calmsea and the three Lios accordingly to the papers. I really like the green touches and I can almost see her peeking up from a puddle of seaweed:) I also tried a new way of coloring the tail. I wanted to get a more fish-like feeling with scales but didn’t want the normal round scale so i tried some horizontal lines. Björn said it look like mackerel so it it worked on him at least.

The divider between the two background-papers is made with the Dainty Dots-die from My Favorite Things. For embellishments i used a baby blue satin ribbon and some light blue rhinestones. The card is made from this weeks Midnight Madness Sketch. Instead of the circular parts of the sketch i placed Lio to take up that space. The greeting is ”You make me Happy” in Swedish.

A Micely Cupcake for my grandfather

This card is for my grandfather for his birthday on the 27th.. A couldn’t help myself so i choose on of my absolutely favorite stamps: the House Mouse Birthday Cupcake one.For the papers and the coloring I had a speciall paper in mind. The paper is the blue one from DCWV’s The Guy stack.

When i was little and spent time up with my grandparents my grandfather always gave me and my sister some nails, hammer, saw and some wood and we did put them together in all kinds of ways. I have to admit that that it really turned out nice or as something but we had so much fun. I did do a Kallaha-game once but that is the only finished thing i can remember. Whenever i see different carpenter tools I always think about him and their driveway, those times is really some of my most treasured memories and I did wanna get a part of them in this card. That background for the card is a part of the warm and fuzzy and warm aspect of the card, an feeling aspect:), and i do hope that bu sharing this i will qualify for this House Mouse Challenge, otherwise i will hope that the warm and fuzzy mice will due;).

All the edges have been distressed with either Tumbled Glass or Vintage Photo to get ride off all the harsh white lines. The brads in the corners have groves like a screw to match the tool-theme. For the shadowing on the cupcake-wrapping i used E39 and a lot of blenderpen. Then only thing i would like to caution about is that the paper I have used is all coated with some glossy material so making the shadows wasn’t that easy and the color just runs of the glossy parts.

A floral Bubbels

So after a lot of christmas-cards i felt like making a card for my own pleasure and sense i really wanted to do a card with Sweet November’s Bubbles Lostlagoon.I just love her hair and she is the the only sitting figure i have so far so next time i will have to make something for her to sit on.

I first deiced that i wanted to use Bo Bunny’s Barefoot Bliss so I tried to color accordantly to the papers. I started our with the green tail and then kept going with the hair. I did want it to be a bit orange/yellow to match the hibiscus-flowers of the paper but i didn’t found a good combination due to the fact that i only have one orange so it got the be a bit more yellow. I don’t think it have enough contrast but that will have to be for the next time. The orange pen is an Copic original pen and i had a really hard time to blend it well when i used it direct to the paper, and i think it got a bit to soft when i used the tip to tip method with the Y17.

The frame for Bubbles is made with scalloped circles and circles nestabilities and the white oval have been embossed/letterpressed with the circles impressabilities. The tag is made with Tim Holtz’s Tiny Tab & tags and i backed the tag on a blue circle made with nestabilities circle. The stamp is from the text-set from Reprint (the swedish word for Thanks). The wave on the bottom is made with My Favorite Things Jumbo Scallop. The inside is made with the same wave.

All white Penny Black: Mouse with wishlist

So i just did my first Penny Black card for the order. I have for a long time now wanted to try to make a all white card and when Penny Black’s Saturday Challenge had an challenge of a white and silver card i just jumped on the challenge.

I did use two embossingfolders from provocraft, the Snowflakes one and the Swiss dots.  The image is on of the ones (and one of my favorites) from Penny Black’s Christmas Critters set.

The card is decorated with a white ribbon and some silver thread. I also used some rhinestones that gets a bit of silvery shine against the white aof the card.

Dies: Spellbinder’s Large and Small Circles and Large Scalloped Circles

Christmas hamster: card 3, last one

So I’m done with the last House Mouse and hamster card of the order. This one is a more old-fashioned one and I wanted a white hamster on this one. I really like how the hamster turned out but i do think the mice look a bit tan beside him or her so if i had colored the hamster first i would probably have gone with a lighter skin-combo for the mice.

The papers are, as on the other two cards, from DCWV’s The Christmas Combo pack.

So now i will head over to the next part of the order that will be featuring some Penny Black stamps….

Copic: E21, E11, E13, E04, E93, R20, E41, E40, E43, E31, E33, E35, E39, E37, E35, R29, R39, C0, C2, 0

stamp: House Mouse’s Christmas Opening Presents, Yo Do’s Svensk Jul (Swedish Christmas)

Other: Spellbinder’s Label 8. Antique Linnen Distress ink. EK Succcess’ medium corner punch.

Christmas hamster: card 2

So this morning I finished off the second House Mouse-hamster card.

The papers are, as in the first on, DCWV’s The cristmas Cambbo.. I did color the image with Copics again and this time I got very happy with the result on the orange tone on the hamster. This time I used YR01 instedad of E31. . Another addition i did was that i used more Snow marker compared to the first one so this time it shows off a lot.

For the sentiment I used You Do’s Svensk Jul-set and its mounted on  on Spellbinder’s Ribbontag Trio. Both the ribbontag and the image have been distressed with Peeled Paint. Then i decorated the card with some buttons.

I’m entering this card for

Stamp: House Mouse’s Christmas Opening presents, You Do’s Svensk Jul (swedish christmas)

Copic: E21, E11, E13, E04, YR01, E33, E35, E40, E41, YG17, YG67, R29, R39, C0, E35, E37, E39, N3, N5, N7, 0

Other: Marvy Uchida’s snowmarker. Spellbinder’s Ribbon tag trio. Peeled Paint Distress Ink.

Christmas hamster: card 1

So the next part of the order is 3 regular 10x15cm card (C6) featuring the Christmas House Mouse stamp with the hamster. So here comes the first:

The stamp is of coarse colored with copics and I’m really happy with the tone on the dark brown mouse. I don’t think that the hamster got a enough orange color so I will have to try another combo next time. The papers that is used is from DCWV’s The Christmas Combo stack (10x15cm). The greeting stamp is from Arkivet and is a Christmas text.

I did use a Inspirational Card Sketches sketch for the layout and i have tilted it on my site so it shows from which angle i did interpreted it. I also entered One Stop Challenge due to the fact that it’s three characters on the card.

Something that don’t really comes up on the photo is that on the santa-hat i did use a thin layer of my snow-marker to get some dimension.

Copic: E51, E11, E13, E04, N3, N5, N7, E35, E39, E37, R24, R29, RE39, C0, C2, E93, YR00, E40, E41, E31, E33, E35, 0, C4, C2, B00

5 simple and clean ”postcard”-cards

So i have just finished the nest step in the big order i got. The part of the order was 5 cards (13 x 8cm), unfolded- like a postcard and i were to use as much as possible of the Reprint stamp Julbakgrund and at the same time making is as simple as possible.

As you all can see i used a shimmering golden cardstock as background and both a regular pen and pencil can without problem write on the background (I tried). Then i stamped the text (with is Swedish christmas words) one and a half time down using my stamp-a-ma-jig as a help. I used Archival’s Brilliance pad Galaxy gold which i think matched perfectly with the golden background. The ribbon is a regular white satin ribbon that i tied as a bow and placing it on the right or left side.

This is made after the the clients wishes and i was was free to do what ever i wanted i would have used this as a cardfront and adhered it to a regular C& white (folded) card. I’m not that fond of writing the greeting or message on an colored surface but i did work so it will have to do.

stamp: Reprint’s Julbakgrund

stamppad: Archival Brilliance Galaxy Gold

20 tags for Daiga

The other day my dear mother and her friend Daiga came by to talk about christmas-cards. Daiga is so far my biggest customer and she love House Mouse. After some coffee and a lot of house Mouse-stamping she deiced she wanted 20 christmas-tags, 15 small singled sided cards and 6 folded cards.

So yesterday i started up with the tags and I justed finished the tags. So here comes the result.

The tags is created by using Tim Holtz’s Tiny tabs & tags and the images is from House’s Clearstamp set Christmas. The images is colored using colored pencils and the edges have been distressed with Fired Brick or Pine Needles. On the image the red ones look a bit pink but they do look red in real life.

After looking at the photo i just realized that it’s only the image with the cheese that shows, but on half of the tags (apparently the lower half) I also used the mouse with the stocking.

Tim Holtz’s Tiny tabs & tags, House Mouse Clear stamp set Christmas and Distress Inks (fired brick and Pine needles).
