Snurrkjol (cirkelkjol)

Week 2-8

Here comes some of my weeks from the beginning of 2014.

IMG_8428 IMG_8429Week 2: I have used the Midnight Core kit from Becky Higgins and i have tried my first real decorating using the Simple stories Baby girl stickers. I just love the midnight kit- its so easy to use and are one of the few collections I think make dull winter-images flattering. I have decided to make a weekly calendar-card to show of the date of the days in that specific week. The calenders are an freebee from one of the nice girls in the Project Life Sweden group on facebook which I then adhere to some of the cards in the kit I use for that specific week. I love that it brings all the weeks together and that the dates are visually shown.

IMG_8431 IMG_8434Week 3: This month-card did i show in a post a long time ago, when i actually made it. You can find it here. I love that soft colors of Neapolitan but rarely have photos I think are suitable for it but this week I had a lot pf photos with Freja’s blanket so I could finally use some of them:).  The decorations on this week is my own doodles- but I did decorate, that two weeks in a row maybe I’m getting the hang of that.

IMG_8440 IMG_8441Week 4: This week I used some of the cards I got from my Studio monthly-subscription. I have had a hard time using my subscriptions because I’m really bad at matching cards by myself (thank god for core-kits) but I made a try and it turned out really good if I may say so. The decorations are from Simple Stories Baby girl stickers and as an afterthought I really do hate the flower on the right side but I have to move on and not obsess.

IMG_8442 IMG_8443Week 5: This week I used the baby for her mini kit from Becky Higgins and the few decorations i used are yet again from SS baby girl stickers. The letters on my titelcard is from Jillibean Soup and I just love the font and all their colors so I just bought all the ones I could find on Cili in papers.  This week I tried to get less people photos and more everyday life-photos which means i get one like that:) But it’s progress…

IMG_8444IMG_8445Week 6: One again I used the Jillibean letters combined with the Honey core kit. I made this spread on one of our monthly PL-meetings here in Gothenburg. Due to all the good influence, especially from Anna, so I dared try something new: I cut my photos a bit. So i trimmed down two photos and matted them on a 4×6 and could then get some journaling done. I loved how the one on the left page turned out and really did like the one on the right, but you win some and lose some. I think I’ll try this more often:)

IMG_8454 IMG_8455Week 7-8: I used the Journal themed cards from Becky Higgins and I just love the bright colors. There are not many cards in this pack but I have used almost everyone which is a bit unusual for me, I’m more of a hoarder then user:)

Recolored MULA from IKEA

2014-06-13A few week ago I tried to find this specific toy for my daughter that she loved from a babycafé we use to visit. I found out what it was called and also found that a cheep one was to be found at IKEA. The one at Ikea is called MULA.

Then I came across this wonderful post from Elin that had repainted her (the original colors is really boring) and I instantly started to plan my own remake.

bildSo I went to IKEA and bought MULA and then went to Panduro for some paint. With some advice from my sister we ended up with  47 Turkos, 23 Ljuslila and Olive (?). The green paint’s label is missing so I’m not sure on that one.I really think they are happy colors and the turkos is of coars my favorite and If i could do as I wanted everything in our home would be in that color.
I first laid on two layers of white and then two coats of the color and I think it is enough. In heinsight I would have bought another color for the metal (even if the paint says that it works on metal) due to the fact that the paint peels away a lot, but I don’t bother me that much (yet).

Baby Girl Breezy

2014-04-06, 1So I wanted to make a Thank-you-card for my grandparents as a thank you for the gift they gave Freja for her name-ceremony. I think this is the first real card (like my old ones) that i have made this year, and probably sense Freja was born. Perhaps this set it all in motion again…

I started out with these Papers that is from Echo Park’s Bundle of Joy, I love that they are so pink and cute. It’s a bit to pink for my taste but it’s2014-04-04, 2 perfect for my grandmother. Then I colored Breezy in matching colors, with copics of coarse. It was ages sense I colored her, I even think it was when i got my first copics. For the background around her i made a dotted background, very lightly to look like heaven or clouds. I cut the image with my nestabilities and then wrote the sentiment on the edge. The decorations are just some brads, a satin ribbon and rhinestones, I do think the card looks a bit bare but it’s finished and ready to be sent so that is a big victory for me right now. The layout is from this weeks challenge on Sketch Saturday. The inside is inspired by the outside but still leaves a lot of space for a message.

Welcome Freja

2014-02-25So times just flies and our little princess is now soon four month old. So we decided to throw her e little welcome/name-party. It will only be for the closest family so I decided to actually make some simple cards.

I choose a simple and fast design that I really like. I got inspired by this ”Merry and Bright”-card from Chari Moss. I made the striped paper with some cut-up scraps and thats why some of the cards are different colors, I just showed some of the cards (I made 12 all together). The ”välkommen” (welcome) is printed with the same font I used on the inside. The cut-out letters are Cole’s ABC from Lawn Fawn.

Welcome litte one

2013-06-08

So before I get to the card I have some more happy news. A couple a weeks ago me and Bjön bought a new apartment that is just amazing. Sadly I was the home of an old woman that past away but that mean that we will be able to move in a the end at the month. So not surprisingly we are now franticly packing all our belongings and the next thing will be my crafting-desk and stuff so I won’t be back (I think) with anything until the midst or end of July I think. Me and baby is still fine and just after the move we have the ultrasound so lots of updates for then:)

CMS-SKISSSo… I started this card like two weeks ago and It was meant for a work-friend of mine that just got a baby boy but I never did finish it in time. We’ll see who will receive it instead.

The card is made based on the current challenge-sketch over at Copic Marker Sverige (Sweden). But sense I’m such a slowpoke the challenge is closed but i wanted to share it with you all anyway.

I just love that Sweden have it’s own page now and I just love the challenges so far. As you can see i justed a sweet Lili of the Valley stamp and I tried to make it a bit more fun with a dotted background. I really like how the bear and background turned out but I’m still having problems with the front of the box, I should really practice if more but I just get annoyed and bored:P

Long time no see – Happy news

So it have been a while sense i posted something and I now have an update to why. For the last few month I have been feeling very VERY tired and I have had some health-problems (nothing serious) so I have just had no energy over for anything – especially not crafting.

Now I’m feeling a bit better and I can happily announce that it have all been due to the fact that I’m pregnant! So around the first of December me and Björn will become parents for the first time:)

Singing in the spring

2013-04-07

So here comes my card for this biweekly challenge over at the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge which is themed Spring. I chose this lovely image because it make my think of all the spring-feeling that is starting to bubbling up inside me.

The coloring is of coarse made with copics. The flowers was from the beginning colored to match another paper but i think it looks pretty good anyway. But i Just love how the birdies turned out, it just love the warmth and the depth that happened.

All the papers are from Bo Bunny’s collection Kitchen Spice. The brownish paper had the same pattern as the pink/peach one so I stamped two different background-stamps in desert stamp to get some more definition. The doilie looked better when it wasn’t glued down – it showed more.

I colored some white yarn with E59 to match the cardstock and used as a twine to hold my sentiment. The sentiment is from The Craft’s Meow’s collection Get well soon and the tag from Tim Holtz’s Tiny tabs and tags which I distress with some desert Ink. The dots that is added is just made with a brown pen.
