Here comes summer

The other day I received some new House Mouse-sets. I of course wanted to play with them so after my exam this Friday I spent a lovely hour coloring in this sweet image. The card-making had to wait for on Saturday i was kidnapped for my bachelorette party, it was a blast!

Well anyway I finally got some time to play around again so i finished the coloring and started this card. I have used this weeks Stampin’ for the weekend sketch. The tag is a die from Magnolia and I made a pocket behind the polka-dot-paper for it. As it is now there is no writing on it, I might ad something personal when I have a recipient in mind.

The mice is colored with copics and the clouds are made with one of my handmade templates and some Tumbled Glass distress Ink. All the edges of the paper have been inked with Memento rich cacao. The sentiment on the easel-stand is Swedish and says ”You make me happy”.

The Musical Bear

So this weeks challenge for Sweet Stampin’ is  ”anything but square” so I thought I’d try my first round easel.

As soon as I saw this lovely image from Di’s Digis i immediately thought of the Ljusteräng family, and especially Andreas. Andreas is a musician and will among other things play on my wedding. His son and my godson Theo will probably grow up to be one too and I though that this bear would be so cute for Theo.

I’m really happy with how the coloring of the fur turned out. I went for a longhaired bear and it really turned out good. I’m not very happy with the drums but i honestly have no idea how to make it work. The white of the hat is not colored because i forgot it until i took the photo. I looks really good but I will probably shade it a bit with E40, E41 if I find the time this weekend. The edges of the circle (and the nameplate) is distressed with Antique Linen.

The paper on the bottom part is from Echo Park’s collection This &That: Charming and I did use that paper as inspiration when I colored. The nameplate is made with one of Spellbinder’s Grommet Tags. The name Theo is stamped with some clearstamp letters i had from an Exchangeable Clearstamper-sets featuring Baby-things and the brads are from Paperwishes. The nameplate is not fastened with any foam-dots or other adhesive or anything dimensional, it’s keeping up due to the fact that the brads is closer together then they ”should”.

Basic Grey and House Mouse birthday

This card is made for my friend Kristoffer and his birthday this weekend. The inspirations for the card I got from Basic Greys Challenge and House Mouse Challenge for this week. The Layout is from the House Mouse one and the Basic Grey challenge is ”more then one fold” so i decided to make an Easel-Card. All the papers are Basic Greys Pyrus and the stamp is from House Mouse set Birthday: Ice Cream and the stamp Birthday Cupcake. The image is colored with both Promarkers and Copic and the frosting is coated with some glossy accent that have been sprinkled with a bit off black embossingpowder. I tried to find something good as sprinkles but couldn’t find anything suitable and embossingpowder was the best i could come up with (too late I realized that i could have used some of my brown flocking, but maybe next time). I embellished the card by putting in eyelets in the corners of the cardfront and the image and threaded a rounded ribbon through them. Due to the fact that this cardfront is mounted on an Easel-card i just taped down the ends in the bottom half and I did a knot with a piece sticking out on the top half were you can see the backside of the card. I keep  going with the ribbons on bottom part of the card but on the right side i did a visible knot. All the papers are roughed and distressed with vintage Photo. The Image is also distressed with vintage photo and i added some faded jeans. The black embellishments are rubb-ons that i cut into small pieces.

Dagens kort är inspirerat av veckans House Mouse och Basic Greys utmaningar. Basic Grey vill se olika typer av vikningar och House Mouse har en layout (se höger). Stämpeln är som används är Birthday Cupcake från House Mouse set Birthday: Ice Cream. Jag har färglagdt med promarkers och Copics och frostingen är täckt med Glossy Accent och lite svart embossingpulver. För dekoration på kortet har jag valt att fästa eylets och dra igenom ett brunt, runt band. På den övre halvan av kortfronten har jag gjort knutar som syns och på den undre sidan har jag bara tejpat fast bandet då det döljs av Easel konstruktionen.

Mojo Monday Challange nr 177

Idag har jag pysslat av två anledningar. För det första ville jag i måndags verkligen vara med i veckans Mojo Monday utmaning men på grund av en fullspäckad vecka har jag haft svårt att hinna med. Men för någon dag senda ringde en vän och behövde ett födelsedagskort så jag bestämde mig för att slå två flugor i en smäll.

Eftersom att jag inte känner mottagaren har jag försökt att hålla kortet så rent som möjligt. Texten är från Penny Blacks Critter Party och texten är monterad i en cirkel från nestabilities och Marvy Uchidas 2″ scallop stans. Det vita pappret som jag klippte ut den bubbliga cirkeln från har jag även embossat med Reprints vita embossingpulver för att det ska matcha Color-me papprenas vita glansiga delar. De mönstrade papprena är Color-me papper som jag färglagd med distressinks; Broken China, Faded Jeans och Pine Needles. Pärlorna på nedansidan är de som fungerar som ställ och det fungerar riktigt bra så länge man inte bär runt på kortet. Ideén är att man kan skriva namnet eller födelseåret på den bit av tag’en som sticker fram.

Första Easel-kortet

Jag tog mig lite tid och lekte mer med mina Graphic 45-papper och gjorde mitt första Easel-kort. Det var enkelt och kul. Jag gillar verkligen att man man ha budskapet på det här sättet. Mitt kort är baserat på ett kort med måtten 15x15cm. En lärdom är att kortet kunde ha stått upp enbart med hjälp av bandet och pappret under men jag ville ha dit en tag i alla fall.

Alla papper är Graphic 45 och kanten uppe och nere på framsidan är fiskars border punch. Löven på bottendelen är skapade med min nya Nelli Snellen stans.Alla kanter är distressade med vintage photo de rödaktiga papprena är även distressade med Tatterd Rose för att få mer djup. Det bruna bandet är ett vanligt sidenband. Hörnen är rundade med EK Success hörnstans, medium.
